Welcome to Active Alternatives Kinesiology & Training

What is Kinesiology?

Kinesiology is the scientific study of how the body moves.

What does a Kinesiologist do?

A Kinesiologist applies his understanding of how to the body moves to test, train and rehabilitate.

Examples please...

  • Functional movement screens and biomechanical analysis, where poor movement patterns and asymmetries are identified.
  • Personal training, where an individualized program is developed to meet specific needs.
  • Sport specific training, where programs are developed to increase performance.
  • Rehabilitation, where strength and conditioning are improved and new movement patterns are developed.

For more information about Kinesiologists and what they do, see the BC Association of Kinesiologists website.
